Considered plans, built for real gardens

I'm Sara. My background isn't horticulture - it's fifteen years in communications, a diploma in interior design (including an advanced module in plant styling and landscape design), and a lot of trial and error in my own garden, including a fair number of dead plants along the way. Ongoing study in modern organics rounds out how I think about space, structure, and planting together.

Plan-t exists because most planting advice falls into one of two camps: generic "garden zone" guidance that ignores how different Wellington's wind is from Manawatu's free-draining soil, or planting styles imported wholesale from places with nothing like New Zealand's conditions. I design in the New Perennial style - structural, naturalistic, built to move and hold interest through every season - matched properly to the specific site it's going into.

Every plan here is built the way I wish planting advice had been handed to me at the start - so you can skip the years of trial and error, and get straight to a border that actually works.
